4th Annual New Year Resolution Run
Each year we find
someone to help for our event. It's important that they
actually need the assistance which maintains the integrity
of the fund. All funds are deposited in the corporate
account and checks are issued for any event expenses, and
then to the beneficiary's debts such as doctors, utility
companies, etc. We will issue funds for food but we do so on
a gift card for a grocery store. We do our best to find a
good candidate and also make sure your donation goes where
it should. This
year we will be helping Linda Bozeman. She's had a bad year
and a half. In June, 2008, she went down on a motorcycle
resulting in a crushed clavicle, punctured lung, and other
injuries less severe. Linda has had three surgeries to date
for this and has been out of work since June, 2008 due to
her injuries.
As of this writing (09-27-09), Linda is still going through
physical therapy, taking powerful antibiotics for the
infection, still has a crushed clavicle with a bar and eight
screws, and has doctor visits weekly. Due to the motorcycle
accident, she has not been able to work since June, 2008,
has no insurance, and is currently fighting with social
security which often takes years. |
