Each year we find someone to help for our event. It's important that they actually need the assistance which maintains the integrity of the fund. All funds are deposited in the corporate account and checks are issued for any event expenses, and then to the beneficiary's debts such as doctors, utility companies, etc. We will issue funds for food but we do so on a gift card for a grocery store. We do our best to find a good candidate and also make sure your donation goes where it should.  This year we will be helping Linda Bozeman. She's had a bad year and a half. In June, 2008, she went down on a motorcycle resulting in a crushed clavicle, punctured lung, and other injuries less severe. Linda has had three surgeries to date for this and has been out of work since June, 2008 due to her injuries.

In July, 2009, while still recovering from the accident, Linda fell and broker her knee cap. This resulted in another surgery, physical therapy, and doctor visits. During her recovery, Linda became deathly ill with a double kidney infection. The infection became septic and spread to her liver, gall bladder, and created a mass of fluid in her abdomen. She spent six days in the hospital for that

As of this writing (09-27-09), Linda is still going through physical therapy, taking powerful antibiotics for the infection, still has a crushed clavicle with a bar and eight screws, and has doctor visits weekly. Due to the motorcycle accident, she has not been able to work since June, 2008, has no insurance, and is currently fighting with social security which often takes years.

Linda has volunteered her time with several events to help people. Some of them were the 2007 & 2008 wounded veterans memorial day fest, 2007 & 2008 save a life run, 2008 new year resolution run, the 5th old fashion biker rodeo, the 2009 Jim Collins memorial fund event, the Leesburg bikefest road crew, and has accompanied me while supporting several others.

She's been there to help down bikers, veterans and people fighting serious illnesses. We're asking that everyone come and help her back. Her full recovery depends on it. Without you, nothing happens.
